     As you may see from other info and pictures on the site , we love our classic cars, especially VW's, both of my sons have had several , and still own them today . We are happy to help other enthusiasts in any way we can in the upkeep, (welding, rust repairs, painting ) servicing,  maintenence, modification and or restoration of virtually any VW.... or any other classic for that matter.

     About  Me  .... The Old Man

Having been in the trade for "too many " years, as noted in the introducion page, owning a medium size garage and Mot station for 20 years , I have (I hope) the skills and knowledge to carry out  routeen servicing as well as most mechanical repair work .
 Also before taking on the garage I spent some 10 years+ in the accident repair side of the industry, where I eventually became workshop manager of what is now one of the largest accident repair /bodyshops in the area, so have the skills, equipment  and experience to cope with most  minor  accident body/paintwork damage. I also of course have the skills and enthusiasm to carry out the occational and much more enjoyable restoration project.
I am quite happy for the owners to assist if they wish, (subject to certain conditions)   and as my overheads are low in comparison to large organisations, I can charge much lower prices than the mainstream bodyshops, yet still using similar quality parts and  materials.
 Although I can work happily on the newer cars, some of the electronic technology in the very latest cars is so advanced that it requires very specialist equipment to diagnose and rectify some of the electrical/computer systems, (even in the dealerships,)
  I actually prefere to work on cars older cars "from my day" which I understand. I am particularly interested in any restorations , be it advising, helping where the owner is not able , or doing all of the required work ,  
I find that without the pressures of the day to day running of my previous garage, chasing parts and motivating staff, meeting targets to pay ever increasing overheads,  I can look after cars how I want to,  carrying out the work to a standard, not cutting corners to keep within a competative price like many workshops today seem to have to in these demanding economic times. 
 I am still be able to keep within the customers budget, because I only book in work that I can comfortably do in the given time.
I like to keep prices realistic, hoping that by doing so I will see the customer again, I have never been in favor of "trading up" anyway, or 'ripping off ', by frightening customers into having jobs done unneccessaraly, or before they are needed and I will always give an honest opinion on any enquiry, or defect I find .
 I like to do my work now in a "relaxed atmosphere" , not rushing, and although I usually keep my promises as to the schedule,
if I find I need more time to complete the work , I will contact my customer to explain .
 Providing the car is fairly local,I can always run you home and then pick you up once the job is completed, or for small"quick jobs" you can wait , provided you dont get in the way.

 Coffee is available , on a d.i.y basis, if you want one, you can have one with pleasure,  you make it and make one for me at the sama time.......... size of invoice based on quality of coffee, 


 I am still registered as an Mot tester ,although not currently testing (but both my sons are) and am up to date with the current regulations and standards,  I no longer have a testing station so I cannot actually carry out Mot tests myself any longer, but can arrange to take them to a local testing station for a small consideration for my time. or you can take them yourself , whichever you prefere. and I can do any required repairs .
