INTRODUCTION
Braintree Small Car Shop is a small family company. started in 2005 following
the disposal, after over 20 years, of our successful, high profile, ex franchise, high street garage which I owned and operated in the south of Essex.
offering;- Car Sales, Servicing, general repairs and Mot testing to a wide variety of private, business and trade customers. That venture was disposed of due to the ever increasing overheads, and a minor health scare prompting a change of direction, moving over into the slower lane, setting up a more low key, less stresfull operation close to home .
Where are we ?
Gone is the prestigious workshop, impressive frontage and high visibility and highly EXPENSIVE site. Now I have a peasefull rural setting just outside Braintree on an industrial site utalising redundant agricultural buildings, where overheads are only a fraction of my previous business.
We are in a village just off the A120 (about 2 miles west of Braintree Freeport Shopping Village) approximatly 20 Minutes east of M11 Stansted, or west of A12 Colchester or Chelmsford.

What do we do ..?
The aim now is, with the part time help of my two sons who like me, are Mot testers and qualified mechanics (and trained at franchised dealers ) to offer genuine, good quality, budget range, low mileage small cars at very competitive prices from approximatly £500.00 up to £3000.00 along with general service and repairs
Although our actual stock of cars may be quite small , during the many years in the trade we have contacts throughout Essex and beyond. We are able to ring round to see if any af them have the car you want ,
either in stock or coming in, saving you the legwork. we are only too happy to help if we can.
We also carry out servicing and repairs and customising to most makes of car,

Why choose us ?
We can now afford to work on smaller profit margins because of our minimal outgoing costs, and I can put the years of experience and contacts in the trade to good use to obtain above average quality, under average mileage, hand picked cars.
Most of the cars we offer are either bought direct from the previous owner, or are main dealer part exchanges. Unlike some so called car traders who sell cars on the net, many on the popular auction sites, (no names) we do not just clean , then resell with little attention to the most important mechanical and safety components. When back in our workshop they are checked /serviced and tested to our well proven system and any faults rectified to a high standard before being valeted and offered for sale.similar to the service we provided to large independant retailers at my previous establisment
Most cars are given a brand new Mot on completion of sale. We have the skills and experience, bridging old and new technology, and contacts made from over 40 years in the trade to aquire and prepare what we believe to be some of the best quality, value for money vehicles available under £3000.00.
Finance/Warranties..........
Due to E.U. directives ( and FSA regulations) we now find it uneconomic to offer finance or insurance based warranties as the cost of staying ' regulated ' is prohibative. These are now easily available on the net, direct thru the warranty companies, see below for suggestions .....
(However, we have also recently made arrangements so that if necessay we can arrange for another dealer who does finance " to take over" the sale, of course this is only available on the higher value cars and subject to certain conditions.

Or for those who wish to pay by credit card, Our web site providers inform us that it will soon be possible for this to be done through Paypal, but we would respectfully ask for our extra costs to be met by the customer .This is NOT YET POSSIBLE as we have not set this account up,
To counter this we select our cars very carefully, we then check and prepair the vehicles to a high standard before they leave our premises and encorage customers to check and drive the cars (within limits allowed by law) before purchace, to make sure that they are content that the car is as described. We try to be accurate and truthful, and will answer any question as as honestly as we can. We are pleased to enter discussion as to any work you would like to be carried out, before agreeing a final purchace price.

These 'deals' can be taken out at any time, not just when purchacing a new car, However, for finance, those with good credit ratings usually find that their bank offers the best rates
and it is ALWAYS worth shopping around .
